Erdoğan Bayraktar

Erdoğan Bayraktar was born in Trabzon, in 1949. After his graduation from Civil Engineering department of İstanbul State Architecture and Engineering Academy, he had his masters degree from the same University’s Civil Engineering program. From 1979 to 1989, he had responsibilities in Özbay ve Gürpınar Building Cooperative, as the vice-chairman of the board and the chairman. From 1973 to 1994, he took part in projects, including over 3900 units of housing, office and industrial stores, by the way of his practice in private sector. From 1989 to 1999, he worked as a common councilman in İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Eminönü Municipality. From 1995 to 1999, he served in KİPTAŞ, a corporation of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as a General Manager, acting in settlement projects, had over 17000 housing units for 11 different regions of İstanbul, along with being a member of the board of Social Housing Foundation. He wrote a thesis on “building contracts” in Bucharest University. Concurrently, he joined various education programs and seminars, about housing, business site, cooperative trading system and real estate industry, in Europe. After being the General Manager of the METROPOL Development Joint-stock Company, a constitution of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, Bayraktar has started working as the president of TOKI, since 2002.
