Real estate industry in Turkey attracted foreign investors for the first time in 2005. Firms, entering the market generally by office investments, went on their business by shopping centre investments due to the lack of quality product. But, logistics that was very popular in the mean time did not attract international investors.

Immediately after the financial crisis, we have seen that because of being a developing economy, Turkey became an important market, charming foreign investors. International investors that returned to their local market in the period of crisis came back to the investors in developing countries where they can reach to higher rate of return.

Despite the parameters look positive, Turkey could not attract enough foreign investors. Additionally, some foreign firms which had intended to stay in Turkey for a long term had to resign their offices because of the lack of operations.

As part of “Investment Conditions in Turkey for International Firms, Experiences and Expectations from Future” panel, the questions such as what the foreign investors seek, what the difficulties of this process are and what the reason of not managing the operations, are going to be asked and discussions are going to be held by the investors that already invested and that want to invest in Turkey and the representatives of leading international firms.
